Using 6mm solid surface material as a cost effective option, this component highlights how drainer grooves and bowls can be incorporated to create a seamless design appearance. The result is total co-ordination between work surface and sink unit whilst providing a non-absorbent and hygienic surface without dirt traps.

With a design brief to capture a minimalistic look, MSF created a crisp, square edged worktop in 12mm white solid surface material. This was further complemented by integrated square shaped drainer grooves and the addition of a stainless steel sink.

Working as part of a supply chain team, the entire kitchen was built as a pre-fabricated unit (Pod) and transported to site as a finished package before being lifted into place.

Solid surfaces can also be used to create interesting design features with inconspicuous jointing, whilst retaining a smooth, non-porous surface.
